Welcome to Month #4 of this wonderful blogging experiment we call IT Hire Wire. It has been an enlightening experience for all of us at Hudson who jumped head first into the social web. Today, I’d like to point out some changes to our “Blogforce” – the stable of people that bring you the world of IT and the Recruitment industry as we see it.

IT Blogger Newbies

If you’ve followed our blog since the beginning (I know you haven’t, but a marketer can pretend), you’d know that we started with a core team of Experts from our marketing department and recruiting operations. Recently, additional experts from across our IT organization have joined into the fun.

One newbie, Kathy Gennuso, started programming before Al Gore invented the Internet, and now has her mind on manufacuring ERP. Another, Scott Smith, has a passion for the recruiting industry that inspires little children. Some noobs, like Todd Harootyan and Mike Bryan compete with each other for the most readers while 2 of our bloggers, Jennifer Hewitt and Joanne Henderson train them to meet the high standards of our candidates and clients. Our own CIO, Mike Whitmer dispenses wisdom on how we manage our IT projects within Hudson.

Is this post a thinly veiled plug to encourage you to read the content provided by Jason Raclaw from Chicago, and Ivan Thomas from Phoenix, 2 very savvy practice managers who live and breathe their respective markets? Yep. It’s because they are so busy finding candidates for the jobs that they are working, and matching your IT skills against our list of clients, that they don’t have time to perfect the blogging trade. We’ve got a wide and varied view into the IT professional marketplace. Read and react to all of our newbie perspectives and start a conversation.

Guest IT Professionals

We come into contact with smart IT professionals every day who advise us on marketplace trends, share their experience, and alert us to opportunities. They’re our vendors, our clients, and sometimes our contractors. Instead of keeping their insights to ourselves, we invite them to share their knowledge with the rest of the world.

Our first Guest Blogger, Chris Russell comes to us via a relationship with Dennis Comeau in our Waltham office. Chris is an experienced tech sales exec with Optiant, and prolific blogger.

I’m also excited to have Eric Presley, the CTO of CareerBuilder, one of our job board vendors, give us his view of the tech world. I enjoyed his initial thoughts on considering IT job offers, as well as his recent video interview on ZDNET. It’s worth a watch.

Moving On

Jamie Hamburg has taken her great experience as editor of this blog and her short stint as a PR coordinator for Hudson, and turned it into a great career opportunity at Burson-Marstellar, a PR Agency. We wish Jamie the best in her new career. Maybe we’ll see her pop up on the B-M Blog.
