IT Magic and Wizardry

I consider myself an intelligent human being.  I had solid ACT scores coming out of High School, and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree.  After all that education and after 10 years working with and placing IT professionals of any variety of specializations, I am STILL amazed every time I get the correct cash from a box with a TV screen, go through a self serve check-out at the grocery store, swipe a card to park my car or watch sports bloopers on the internet

It’s absolute magic!

Technology is EVERYWHERE we go!

Google, YouTube, Ticket-Master, Yahoo, CAT Scans, Windows, the internet, GPS systems and the Olympics Streaming on-line. And a cell phone that has GPS, GOOGLE, Windows AND the Olympics streaming online?    Are you kidding me?  WOW!

What’s next? PLEASE, keep it coming!  I can’t wait to see!

I don’t pretend to comprehend all the math, logic and moving parts of a web application at a minute level that the average Applications Engineer must know like the back of his hand, but I enjoy learning/seeing how technology is used in our everyday lives and by Hudson’s customers and am constantly blown away by the people I talk to each day who know how to make all this magic happen and even more blown away by the wizards who come up with the next big thing and then can create it.

I know it happens, but I simply cannot grasp the concept of how ones and zeros ever made anything but bigger numbers when strung together, but as long as the Wizards and Magicians continue to work their magic, I am under their spell.
